Well it is now January 25th 2021, and we are in another state of emergency with another lockdown going on still due to the whole COVID-19 crisis. They are housing 80 patients from my local hospital in a tent out in the parking lot of the hospital. Yes, it is January in Canada and we have hospital patients in tents.
As for me, I guess I’m doing okay. I’m very lonely and have a touch of cabin fever but all things considering, I’m doing just fine.
January has flown by and I am just getting around to doing the first of my “resolutions” this week, but at least I’m starting! I plan on trying to sort out some of the mess of my life and getting into a better routine. This blog post is one of the things I’ve been wanting to do but have had a lot of difficulty starting which is why there is no grand theme or message to this post, as it is just meant to break the ice and get me back into posting on my site.
Remarkably, I haven’t been completely remiss in working towards my self improvement goals this year. One good thing so far is that I’m spending significantly less money nowadays and although I do still find it quite easy to click the “add to cart” button, I’m trying to make the most out of my purchases and all this extra time to reflect.
One of my latest purchases is a book on delivering ACT therapy to people with Borderline Personality Disorder and have started working through the process myself. So far I’ve read the introduction and the “week one” lesson and even found the time to print out some of the worksheets and fill them out. I’m really hopeful that this will help, even if it is just a little bit of a distraction from the boredom. I do hope to be able to make some posts sharing any progress or breakthroughs that I make during this process.
